Listing is for vintage display/décor brass Engine Order Telegraph, mounted on burl wood to display.
My husband had this before we were married, so it is more than 45 yrs old. He doesn’t remember and of the particulars, so I will describe as I am viewing it. The top & stand are solid brass and the base is genuine burl wood with black felt bottom. Top has moveable levers both front & back that ring like a bell when moved. The both sides of top read the same “Chadburns” “Liverpool” & “London”; and “English Movement”. It measures approx 17” tall, top is 5 ½” in diameter and base is 7” in diameter. Bottom is very stable in its ability to hold piece upright. The burl wood is heavy and the brass pedestal is fluted (thick at the bottom) so it doesn’t fall over. In choosing the best shipping option for this piece, I found that by removing 5 screws, it could be packaged safely in medium flat rate box. This piece is quite tall and weighs nearly 6 lbs, so shipping completely together adds about - to the shipping price. I have included photos of exactly where screws go and how easy it is to reattach. Screws for base are in small zip bag and taped to bottom of base; and the 2 screws to attach top to pedestal are also put in separate zip bag and taped to top of pedestal. Separating these pieces to efficiently pack also gave me the opportunity see the quality and photograph for you. It is packaged carefully properly padded an wrapped for safe travel.
